a ballroom interior with carpet flooring has graphics on display including printed boards on 3 sides of a column with black and white imagery and text "Humble Beginnings", a second display shows more black and white imagery with text "1929-1969" and lastly a cardboard cutout of an illustrated van with logo "Acme Uniform and Linen Inc"

Cintas® Presidents Club

problem:

Cintas wants to tell the history of their company to their attendees (Cintas presidents and their families) in a fun, interactive way. Design should be unique and visually interesting.

solution:

The designs for these displays utilizes a collage approach, with some images clipped out, pencil sketched shadows, and watercolor splotches strategically placed to draw the eye. The timeline panels have a newspaper look with texture and depth.

a timeline titled "Cintas Through The Years, 1929-1959" has a grey newspaper textured background overlaid with black and white photography and newspaper clippings with historic moments, watercolor swatches, blue color blocks, and years in white text at varying sizes
close-up image of timeline shows images and text for 1940s, 1946, 1957, and 1959, images of the Cintas founders and their families, a factory, and laundry bins piled high with fabric, all in black and white on a newspaper print background
close-up image of second timeline shows images and text for 1973, 1979, and 1980, including a large red color block with 1980 written large, images of the Cintas logo sign, Bob Kohlhepp holding a uniform illustration, and a catalog image of woman in a uniform suit jacket and skirt, all in black and white on a newspaper print background with halftone dots
large timeline display, roughly 6 feet tall and 10 feet wide, on display in a ballroom with carpeted floors, next to another structure labeled "Can you guess the Cintas Product?" with doors with holes to reach in and feel textured products
Image of a white rectangular structure, roughly 7 feet tall by 3 feet wide labeled "Can you guess the Cintas Product?" with doors with holes to reach in and feel textured products, each door is colored, some red, some blue, come orange
A white structure with six cubes along a line, which rotate to display information on 4 sides, each cube representing a different department at Cintas, sits atop a carpeted ballroom floor
